Akai Professional MPC1000 Music Production Center
The Akai MPC1000 Music Production Center is a laptop-sized unit that serves as a portable complement to the MPC2000 and MPC4000 and is a powerful DJ production tool on its own. It has a friendly interface, easy-to-use MIDI sequencer and drum sampler, and velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads for expressive play. Two separate effects processors plus a main-out processor can be used simultaneously. Also has 2x2 pole filters per voice, two Q-link sliders for realtime control, and 16MB capacity expandable to 128MB.
