Alteiri Mute Bag

By dstaines from St. Louis, MO on 2/18/2013 11:55:57 PM

This is a great mute bag. Styled as a messenger bag, it is much larger than the Protec bag that I had been using. Everything fits into one large main compartment, that has a red quilted lining to protect the mutes. A cardboard-like divider with mesh pockets that clips into the bag. Behind he divider is he perfect spot for a standard sized paper music folio and my "Real Book". Forward of the divider, I have room for a trombone cup, straight, plunger, stand light and mute holder. The bag comes with a big removeable red quilted liner that matches the lining of bag, but it takes up too much room to be useful. Two clasps with adjustable straps are used to close the bag. They straps turn out to be the perfect spot to hold my K&M trombone stand, sort of like an Englishman's umbrella. Both stand and bag are black, and they look as if they belong together. I like keeping the stand outside of the bag. The mutes are less likely to be damaged without the stand in there with them. The stand is what I what to set up first when I arrive at a gig, having it strapped to the front of the bag makes for easy access. On the top flap of the bag is a zippered compartment, but my bag is packed too full to put much into it . I like this bag. My gear is secured and the bag is more comfortable to carry than my Protec bag, which always seems to be sliding off my shoulder. it costs much than the $24 protec bag...but it seems very well built. I didn't mind paying the extra. I rate this bag as the best gig bag that I ever have owned, 5 stars. I think hat you will like it, too.
