Bari is the top-of-the-line brand for synthetic reeds. Synthetic reeds will usually last several times longer than traditional reeds. They can still be chipped or cracked, but they will not wear out like traditional cane. The reeds are formatted to sound as similar to cane reeds as possible, but there is a slight difference.

Awesome reed

When I first got this reed i got the hard strength which i later found out on bari's website was equal to a 4-4.5 strength. This reed is extremely free blowing and the dynamic changes are a lot easier. I would suggest this reed to most players. Another good feature about this reed is that you don't have to wet it before you play it making it good for people doubling instruments.

My favorite reed

In December 2008, we were preparing for our big Christmas musical at my church, and I was experiencing reed issues. In between performances, I went to my local Music and Arts store and purchased a Bari synthetic reed for my alto sax. In January 2011, that reed finally gave out. I played with it every Sunday and then some for over two years! I would highly recommend this reed to anyone who loves to play the sax.
