Buffet Crampon E11 France Intermediate Bb Clarinet

With the introduction of the new E11 France Bb clarinet, Buffet has taken the design of the E11 one step further. First, these clarinets are now produced in France along with the legendary R13 lending more continuity to the line. The interior bore has been redesigned and perfected according to the standard set in the R13 series. These clarinets are free-blowing, with excellent intonation, as well as the renowned hand-finishing that Buffet's France workshops are known for.

Unexpected Difference

By Jessica Dandridge from Waldorf, MD on 2/15/2011 10:41:02 PM

As a parent of a 4 year clarinet player I began my search for a new instrument for my daughter after her beginnger clarinet was stolen at school. I was having a difficult time deciding whether to spend the extra money on an E11 versus replacing or renting another beginner clarinet. I was unsure of the difference an E11 would make with her playing and whether I wanted to spend so much money when my daughter was only in 8th grade, even though she was an advanced player. After stumbling across a good sale on the E11 I decided to go ahead and get it for her. I found that once she began using the E11 at home for practice overtime she was sounding much clearer, and her notes were more crisp. In speaking with her tutor and music teacher I learned that the E11 makes the user work harder for the clean sound. In essence purchasing this clarinet helped my daughter to work even harder and even develop better breathing technique. I am happy that I made the purchase. It was well worth the money spent and I will not have to make another purchase until well into the future. The beginner clarinet would have never lasted her through high school. I highly recommend the Buffet Crampon E11 for any parent trying to decide which way to go for their middle school students. You will truly see an surprisingly unexpected difference in your childs playing.

Not Impressed

By Valley Clarinetist from Winchester, VA on 8/29/2011 4:08:34 PM

I am not impressed by this clarinet. It is absolutely beautiful; however, it hardly sounds beautiful. I am not certain if it's the particular instrument I have or if this is indicative of the E11 France. I would suggest anyone purchasing this try at least 3 or 4 and find the one with the best intonation. Otherwise, you might want to consider saving for an R13. I would not recommend the E11 France.

Won't Budge

By Stacey from Litchfield Park, AZ on 2/15/2011 10:18:39 PM

I purchased this Clarinet for my daughter and we love it! There are only two gripes that we have about this beautiful instrument. One is that the case that the instrument resides in has locks in order to lock the case but, no key to do so. Second gripe is that the instrument is extremely hard to put together and without an adults help my daughter is unable to put the entire instrument together by herself. I get scared while putting the instrument together because we have to put so much pressure on certain spots just to put it together. YIKES! Other than those two problems the instrument sounds amazing and we love it!!
