The 8200 Series Field-Corps Marching Bass Drums feature: Yamaha exclusive Air-Seal Systemâ¢ shell and hoop construction and a 7-ply deep resonant tones with solid punchy attack. The 8200 Series also features a lightweight aluminum arch shape lug casing that allows the shell to vibrate more freely and is 50%birch/mahogany shell that provides stronger and 26% lighter. The bass drums are .5 lbs to 1.75 lbs pounds lighter than the previous model. Ten ply birch hoops have a rounded outside edge for pinpoint tension in conjunction with a revamped claw. A wide-body claw offers greater tuning stability and reduces hoop damage with high tension tuning. All drums also include 5.4mm tension rods for reliable tuning without extra weight and REMO Smooth White Ambassador bass drumheads.

Yamaha's Field-Corps multi-toms deliver a pure, focused tone that is maximized by a deeper, more balanced set of multi-toms. These toms are equipped with a lug that utilizes an arch-shape design which allows the shell to vibrate freely thus delivering greater tone. The Field-Corps multi-toms are also equipped with a 2.3mm thick, steel UltraHoopâ¢ rim that is specially designed by Yamaha. Its profile protects the bearing edge from mallet sweeps, which is especially important as the rim height lowers.
