Excellent All-Around Mandolin Strings

By Samuel Morris from Euless, Texas on 2/15/2011 10:14:03 PM

These strings are an excellent choice for great mandolin tone. They are right in the middle as far as feel goes: not too slinky and not too stiff, but a great balance for comfortable playing. J-74's yield a full sound with plenty of volume: not overly brassy or harsh or muddy on the lower ranges. They are just a great string that work well for any type of mandolin playing. And they last me quite a while (over a month) between string changes. Give these a try and you'll come back to them over and over again.
