At first I was discouraged

These picks are just smaller than a postage stamp. I made the switch from the .60mm orange Tortex to these so initially they felt absurdly small. After 3-4 tries though, I realized I made a good choice. Your fingers get around them more so they don't slip and crawl around like the orange. They're slightly more rigid due to their size so you get better response and definition. The pick just grabs more. I had tried larger tortex but they were always too rigid. This is by far the best option while not switching gauges. You can also pick a bit faster and with plenty of bite. The pointier design simply gives a better pluck and smoother roll of.
