Elixir Light Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings

Gauges: 12-16-24-32-42-53.

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are covered with an ultrathin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Elixir Nanoweb coating permits acoustic guitar strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings. Elixirs are the first major innovation in guitar strings in over forty years and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play.

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to 5 times longer than ordinary strings.

Elixir light gauge acoustic strings

By sean diaz from Marietta, GA on 2/21/2011 11:02:39 PM

I admit the price tag on these strings is a far cry from the usual $5 I'm used to shelling out for a new set, but I tell you, by the end of their six month tour on a frequently used guitar they definitely pay for themselves. The first thing I noticed about the Elixirs was that the strings retain their "new string", bright sound for a lot longer than most. I remember getting a slight giddy feeling at this since I'm used to that sound dying out after the first couple of hours. Less gunk on the bottom of the strings is another plus and if any manages to accumulate it pretty much just wipes off. The coating on the strings does tend to fray, slightly hindering sound but only after the third month or so if you're an avid player. These strings have lasted me an average of six months or so without breaking compared to the 4 weeks of play time I'm used to with non-coated brands although I am apt to change them more often to get a better sound out of my guitar. Overall they're a great deal and definitely get a least 4/5 stars in my book.
