The 50's Strat

By John McAloon from DE on 2/17/2011 12:30:37 PM

In this man's opinion, the 50's Stratocasters were the finest made. They have the most finger friendly necks Fender ever made, especially compared with 60's and 70's models. The tone has that instantly recognizable Strat sound, where the notes just sound like they naturally bend. When you riff, it's almost like you have a built in flange. Playing chords is the best I have ever heard on any solid body electric guitar. Full sound, lots of power and be sure to use .012's or higher if you are a rhythm guitarist. The old style bridge and machine heads make changing strings quick and easy as well as slip proof. All you will need to top off the sound of this baby is an old Fender Bassman amp, if you can find one.
