I am a beginner violin player and in order to focus on learning the main skills to play the instrument, I needed a shoulder rest. Since I am new and do not wish to have to tighten an expensive rest onto the violin, I chose to get this. It is convenient! I can slip it on and off, and the plus is that I can adjust it as I feel I need to instead of having one tightened to where it cannot move without un-tightening. I will adjust it as needed during playing. It also does not take long to get off, so I can put the violin back in its case very quickly afterwards. I recommend this to those looking for a shoulder rest who would like the conveniences I mentioned above as well. Kristina
