Gronitz Musikhof PCM Series 5-Valve 5/4 CC Tuba

Gronitz-Musikhof instruments preserves a German tradition of fine brass manufacturing that goes back centuries. The Gronitz tubas are equally at home in the largest orchestras and wind ensembles, the hand made bows give this instrument a very quick response and a beautiful sound. This 5/4 size, five-valve CC is at home in full symphonies or smaller ensemble settings.

Born in Markneukirchen, Herbert Gronitz established the original Gronitz Musikhof in Hamburg, Germany in 1933. In the 1950’s and 60’s, Gronitz became well-known for his tubas and his world-famous tradition of fine craftsmanship lives in each instrument today.

Gronitz tubas are truly handmade. That term is used with relative disingenuousness across a variety of manufacturing categories, but with Gronitz, that characterization is absent any caveat. Every valve, every tuning slide, every crook is hand-fitted onto the horn in a small shop in Hamburg, Germany by master craftspeople for whom brass instrument manufacturing is practically part of their DNA.
