Convenient, but not durable

By Justin M. from Aurora, CO on 5/25/2011 10:00:25 PM

I bought 4 of these trombone stands for my middle school. While the design is compact and convenient, this trombone stand is not very durable. The rubber cover for the button on top came off almost immediately (which exposes a metal pin). The legs bend easily and are covered with a rubber coating that came off within the first few months as well. If you're looking for a trombone stand for use with kids, this is not the one.

Great, but know this:

I have had this kind of trombone stand for a while. I like pretty much every aspect of the product. It does the job. There is one thing you must know about the mobility of this stand. It is compact and can be stored in the bell. At first, I thought that it would be great, as I could take the stand everywhere I take my instrument without carrying it to the side. The problem After storing the stand in the bell, I've noticed the bell has started to crumple! Especially because of the tightness of my case, I have to screw it in level with the edge of the rim. Even the gentlest of hands would make the same result. After buying a $2,000+ horn, it was awful to know that I will either live with the dents, or spend more $ reparing it.. If only I had that, I would have bought a regular stand. Because of this problem, it is solid in providing all the functions of a regular stand. Hope this helps!
