Product Details

Ibanez RGA8 8-String Electric Guitar

The 8-string Ibanez RGA8 Electric Guitar boasts a carved-top mahogany body for tonal warmth, strong sustain, and playing comfort. The 5-piece maple/walnut neck has the surprisingly fast and effortless to play Ibanez Wizard II-8 profile.

The 27" scale facilitates the lower tunings used in modern heavy rock music and the 24-fret rosewood fretboard is dressed with dot inlays. The black finish and black chrome hardware add a sinister vibe to this metal machine.

Ibanez LZ8 pickups
The RGA8 is armed with Ibanez LZ8 humbucking pickups that are specially-sized for 8-string guitars with a wider magnetic field and produce a tight and warm sound. The RGA8 guitar's active pickups' ceramic magnets deliver a modern high-output fat sound, yet are tweaked to also produce a balanced clean sound. An active EQ circuit with a simple-to-operate on-off switch provides pure tone free of noise. A mid-scoop toggle switch provides additional tonal variety and punch. 2 AA batteries operate both the active pickups and EQ circuitry .

FX Edge III-8 bridge
The 8-string Ibanez guitar's durable FX Edge III-8 double locking fixed bridge has a low-profile for playing comfort and maximum vibration transfer, while also providing stability, tonal sustain, and helping to make string changes happen quickly.

If your looking for a good 8 string guitar this one is it. Ive had mine for a little over 3 months and i love it though two weeks in i got rid of the stock pickups for emg 808's because they were a disgrace and replaced the eq toggle with a tone knob. Going from a 7 string with a 27 inch scale to this though was relatively easy, the neck was of course wizard thin and felt just like my 7 string. Though with this upgraded and still costing less than a RG2228(which is similar but has a basswood body and a very similar neck). Overall this is just a great guitar. Best purchase of 2011
