Awesome Instrument

By Lee Anderson from South Orange, NJ on 2/15/2011 5:11:47 PM

I marched this instrument in the 2010 Macy's Great American Marching Band. I had played Jupiter sousaphones before and I wasn't extremely fond of them, but this was amazing. To start off, the four valve design helps the same way a trigger does on a trombone, a lot! The intonation was so much better than other sousaphones too, whereas on other sousaphones, it's a hassle. Though I'd have to say that the best addition was a case for all the neck and mouthpiece extenders. I had to play with one mouthpiece extender on a neck for 2 years and this was a much needed change. Of course the instrument is heavy, but padding works well on it. The money is well worth it.
