Great for practice and performance

By Karl Baltzell from Allen, TX on 2/15/2011 10:06:48 PM

We bought this for my son who is in band and a church percussion group. This marimba is great for all his needs. Even though its title says "Practice Marimba" he has used it for several performances in our church and this baby fills the sanctuary without the use of a mic. Very well built and good looking instrument. Not too heavy to lug to performances either.

Watch out for the inflated cost of their rent to own...

By Chris Sturm from Leander, Texas on 4/10/2014 8:57:11 PM

Our son who needed a practice marimba for band. We went to Music and Arts because that was were the school recommended we go. We were given the choice to buy outright or rent to own. We were also given the choice between a new and used marimba. We chose the used as it was over $600 cheaper than a new one (easy choice). The marimba is excellent. I'm giving it 1 star because Music and Arts failed to point out if we went the rent to own route with a used marimba, they charge more than the price of a brand new one. I wouldn't be upset if this would have been explained from the start. This store made $600+ off me for renting me a used marimba that probably has been rented out several times before. I got the excuse that they were just really busy at the start of the school year and a shallow apology for having to pay $650 more than what it was worth. Thanks Music and Arts!
