The Pearl Vision VX 8-Piece Drum Set includes two 22" x 18" kick drums, 10" x 8", 12" x 9" and 13" x 10" toms, 14" x 14" and 16" x 16" floor toms, a 14" x 5-1/2" snare drum, 2 P-120P PowerShifter bass drum pedals, an S-70W snare stand, a C-70W cymbal stand, 3 B70W double-braced cymbal stands, an H-72W hi-hat stand, and an HA-100 hi-hat-to-bass drum attachment.

The Pearl Vision Drum Series features 2 very different drum shell thicknesses: a 6-ply rack tom and 8-ply bass drum and floor tom, for incredibly balanced sound. Lower frequencies require greater energy to project equally to match the higher frequencies produced by smaller drums. Pearl Vision's unique 6/8 technology makes this possible.

Pearl's 60 years of acoustic research has proven that the interior plies of the drum shell are the key influence to the overall sonic characteristic of the drum. Pearl Vision Series exploits this knowledge to the fullest by using 2 unique shell recipes of birch and basswood. Birch offers a resilient tightly bound network of cells that tend to accelerate rebounding sound waves making it perfect where mid-range to high frequencies are desired. Basswood provides a slightly softer cellulose composition, which tends to slow the sound waves, thus promoting mid-range to low-frequency response. Adjusting the overall balance of one ingredient to the other allows a fine-tuning of frequency response much like Pearl's Reference Series Drums.

Pearl SST Drum Shell Design
Pearl Vision series drums offer a sonically advanced recipe of strategically arranged plies of premium wood to maximize frequency response in every component. As with all Pearl drums, each shell is formed using Pearl's SST construction process that uses extreme heat, precision-cut scarf joints, Pearl's proprietary Acoustiglue, and over 1000 lb. of hydraulic pressure to create the ultimate acoustic air chamber.
