5 stars) Reed

By Josh from Fortcollins Colorado on 2/18/2011 11:47:39 PM

For some time now I have been experimenting with different wood in order to find the best fit for my clarinet. Last quarter I ordered a box of Peter Ponzol reeds and I must say that I fell in love; attractive and elegant the facts are these: the reed resonates to create a warm and colorful sound. Guilty as charged it?s a high-quality reed that does not cost as much as a box of ol? Van but to be honest I?m still split between the two. Recent work in class has put me in the mentality (for lack of a better phrase) that this reed benefits from light, articulate instrumentation. Thus I have been using it only with my few ?solo lines? because it brings the instruments inner chi out of the wood work; creating a sound that is just downright gorgeous. This however is only a personal account of this brand, and so- I would encourage you to try it for you self and see what it brings you. Happy playing!
