A good bass for beginners

By Mike Lent from Severna Park, MD on 2/15/2011 5:42:34 PM

I am fairly new to the world of bass playing, so I bought this Squier P-Bass on the advice of a bass-playing Music&Arts employee. As a first bass, it has been serving me well. I have fallen in love with playing bass because of this instrument. It provides a good set of bass tones and is a solid instrument. I have, however, had a few minor issues with the bass. Most notably, the A string buzzes a lot (a problem that I will attempt to solve by adjusting the saddles). Also, it tends to go out of tune after a few hours of play, though I am new to the world of the electric bass and don't know if this is a normal issue. Finally, the fret dividers are a bit sharp and can therefore be a bit annoying when playing a lot of slides. Besides these minor complaints, I am very happy with this bass and will be content playing it for the next few years.
