Best Bang for your Buck

By Austin Hardy from Huntersville, NC on 2/15/2011 9:58:31 PM

For the money, not sure if you can make a better choice than Takamine. I have played this model plenty, and I can say it sounds every bit as nice as an equivalent Yamaha model. If you're thinking about ever playing out, you'll appreciate the Electric/Acoustic. The cut-out feature makes those higher frets easy to hit. I would highly recommend for Beginners and Intermediate players. FYI... Garth Brooks' axe of choice is a Takamine. Probably because of the bright sound that it exudes (popular in country music).

Big Sound from a Big Box!

By Ben from Rockville, MD on 2/15/2011 10:30:21 PM

This guitar is not for the faint of heart! It has a huge body that absolutely sings! I recommend heavier strings and tuning the instrument down to D or even C#. There is something about this guitar that really opens up a lot more in that range. It is also especially receptive to open tunings. The electronics will definitely give you what you're looking for as well. The pinless bridge is great for quick string changes. The guitar comes with a decent setup. It appears to be well constructed as I have been playing it for about 8 years now and there is no sign of weakness anywhere. Finally, let's face it...this is a beautiful guitar. The maple is beautifully flamed and the inlay is flawless. You'll really enjoy this guitar.
