Great starter guitar

By Kyle from Katy, TX on 3/25/2011 9:09:47 PM

I recommend this model if you are in the market for a guitar to learn on. I am just now learning to play and found this to be one of the better models in terms of both quality and price point. Sound quality is excellent. It has a deep, rich tone and was a bit bassier than some other models I compared it to. The finder action is good and not too difficult to work with. This is great for a beginner like me. The construction is nice and solid. It has managed to survive being dropped and bumped without taking serious damage.

Best Value

By Dayla Stoerzbach from Salem, MA on 2/16/2011 11:12:21 PM

For a quality beginner guitar, you will not find a better price. Yamaha makes products that sound good for a lower cost. Easy finger action and a satisfying sound give students the encouragement they need to continue practicing and playing. I bought three for my after school guitar class. Money well spent!

700s

By Chris from Oakhill, Va on 2/28/2011 10:34:02 PM

this guitar is what made me go acoustic before that i was a rough'n tumble twelve year old with a dream. The guitar itself is great quality at first, I would recommend sanding it down and removing the pick guard. After I sanded down the instrument, i placed it next to my amp with my electric right next to it, cranked the volume and left the house for three hours when i came back the guitar was ringing. I let the wood breath and rest and then the next day i played it. do this before you seriously play this guitar. it opens up the wood and the guitar becomes louder. the only thing i would improve would be the neck or the sustain, i wish Yamaha made a OM model of this too... oh well
