Yamaha Silent Electric Viola

Yamaha designed the silent electric viola as a highly capable performance and practice instrument. Dual under-bridge piezo pickups and a studio-quality preamp faithfully deliver acoustic tone that's fully tweakable with the onboard EQ system. A repositioned 1/4" output jack drapes the cable behind the player while the lower bout accommodates a standard shoulder rest. The electric viola's unfinished neck offers the feel of an acoustic instrument and the full 16" scale is easy to play.

Absolutely Amazing

I do not yet own this viola, but i have played it several times. The sound is beautiful and it feels great on the shoulder. The playability of this viola is unsurpassed by other electric instruments. I do highly reccommend that you buy a shoulder rest with the viola because it is very difficult to vibrato without one. All of the materials used in this viola are very high quality, especially the spruce top. But the best feature of the vioa is that the cord isn't on you while you're playing, thus making it even easier to play. I don't think there is much else to say about the silent viola other than that it is truely amazing.
