The Yamaha YHR667VL Symphony Double French Horn are handcrafted by the finest makers in the world. The Yamaha 667V features the patented "Dual Plane Valve" for very little resistance and a smooth action plus a hand hammered one-piece annealed bell for consistent response in all ranges. The horn is available in lacquer with a fixed bell.

Yamaha YHR-667VL Symphony Geyer Series Double French Horn

Geyer style wrap
A horn with a Geyer style wrap has the 4th valve on the far end of the other valves with a long thumb lever. It is an open wrap with very few sharp bends in the tubing.

"Dual Plane Valve"
This patented Yamaha design on the 4th rotor permits a unique tubing configuration and allows smooth, efficient transitions between the Bb and F horns.

Hammered and annealed bell
Hammering and annealing are processes so important to the instrument's acoustic characteristics that Yamaha employs computer-controlled equipment to ensure consistently superior sound. Hammering enables bells to have a rich, resonant tone that blends beautifully with other instruments. Annealing is a cooling and heating process that makes it easier to control the acoustics of the instrument.
