Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Series Bb Trumpet

The Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is renowned for its exceptional value and outstanding performance. The Bb Xeno trumpet offers musicians highly responsive action and satin-smooth playing.

Yamaha musical instruments are justly famous for their attention to detail, and the Xeno trumpet is no exception. With an ample .459" bore, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno trumpet offers performers low resistance for satisfyingly free blowing. Both the hand-hammered bell and drawn mouthpipe are fashioned in one piece for durability and outstanding tone.

The Xeno is a substantial trumpet with a heavy mouthpiece receiver, 2-piece valve casings, a first valve slide thumb hook, and double main tuning slide braces—just a few of the amenities usually found on more expensive instruments. Maintenance of your Xeno trumpet will be minimal as evidenced by the use of extremely durable Monel alloy for the hand-lapped pistons and slides.

Yamaha Xeno trumpets have earned their place in the world's most prestigious symphonies and among top-level concert band and jazz performers. Yamaha's flagship professional trumpets are heavyweight instruments, made with a metal that has been specially treated to deliver more power, better control, and a richer sound.

The mouthpiece receiver length on the YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet has been upgraded for improved response. All tubing is pressure-formed for perfect roundness that results in smoother air flow and more precise tone. With an annealed 4-7/8" bell, and a gold-brass mouthpiece, the Yamaha YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet is highly responsive with a dark tone that won't break up with volume.

Yamaha delivers each YTR-8335RGS Xeno Professional Trumpet in its own sturdy case. Like every Yamaha wind instrument, the Xeno Professional Trumpet is covered by a limited 5-year warranty.

Silver-plated finish.

Xeon is the one!

By Jack from Newark, DE on 10/19/2010 7:58:02 PM

This is the best trumpet I have ever played! I've been playing on an old Olds' Custom trumpet for the past handful of years. I decided to get a new trumpet for my Marching Band and Concert Band. You will be highly ridiculed if you use a Xeon or any trumpet this pricey. I didn't get a pat on the back when I told them what I was using it for. It is the best trumpet I have ever touched and probably ever will. You will not regret this buy if you have the cash for it. I would encourage anyone to buy this amazing trumpet. The only thing I don't like about this beautiful piece of work is its mouthpiece. I use my Olds' mouth piece (Olds' 3). I have passed the mouth piece to friends and they have wanted to buy it from me...so it cant be to bad (Olds' 3s have great range though while the original mouthpiece for my Xeon has really good tone). You won't go wrong with this beautiful piece of majestic art. I will happily carry this throughout my life. No regrets what so ever.

Not a good performer for the price.

By Brian from Chandler, AZ on 2/15/2011 10:25:12 PM

For the price, you can definitely do better. I tried out several horns recently, Bach Strad's, Xeno's, Schilke's. The Xeno is definitely the price-performance loser. The heavy bell gives a dark orchestral sound and is not very versatile. The valve performance is very tight (and slow compared to Bach and way slower than Schilke) forcing you to use synthetic oils. If you are going all out for a high-end horn...I don't think this one is it.
