Bucket-shaped aluminum shekere can be played by hand or mounted
Based on the Xequebalde, a Brazilian folk instrument, the Gon Bops Bucket Shekere is made with a lightweight aluminum shell that stands 8" tall and 12.5" wide at the opening, and can be played either in-hand like a traditional shekere or mounted on a stand — a snare stand works perfectly — and played with brushes or rods. Super-light and easily portable, it provides a rich, warm percussive attack. The first of its kind manufactured outside Brazil, this unique instrument can bring an authentic sound to traditional music, or a fresh, unexpected effect to music of any genre.
