Send positive vibrations with the Schlagwerk HP8DI 8-note handpan in an Integral D-Minor tuning (A, Bb, C, D, E, F, A). Handpans are tuned drums that are a percussive and musical mash-up of Trinidad steelpans, Indian ghatams, Thai and Indonesian-gamelon gongs and other such instruments. Co-designed by Harmonic Art, Schlagwerk handpans are constructed from a vibra-steel alloy that resists rust and produces clear, high-volume and beautifully enveloping tones. In addition, a heat-treatment process hardens the alloy and ensures tuning stability, the single shells are formed to control thickness and produce alluring sustain and overtones, and a special coating guards against corrosion.
