A high-performance San Dimas with JB/’59 pickups and Floyd Rose control.

The Charvel American Neo-Classic San Dimas SD1 HH FR electric guitar brings the performance-focused spirit of the early-'80s San Dimas originals into a modern American-made platform built for fast playing, aggressive tremolo work and flexible humbucker tones. Its alder San Dimas Style 1 body delivers balanced resonance with warm midrange punch and clear top-end cut, while the one-piece quartersawn maple neck and quartersawn maple fingerboard are shaped around authentic 1980 specifications and reinforced with graphite for added stability. A Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge humbucker and Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N neck humbucker provide the classic hot bridge/vintage neck pairing, routed through a 5-way blade switch for full humbucker tones and split-coil combinations. Available in multiple gloss finishes with chrome hardware, Luminlay side dots and an included Charvel Multi-Fit hardshell gig bag, the SD1 HH FR is built for players who want Charvel speed with double-locking tremolo authority.

Alder San Dimas Body With Neo-Classic Style

The San Dimas Style 1 body gives this Charvel its familiar stripped-down silhouette, with no pickguard and a gloss finish that keeps the focus on performance. Alder provides a balanced foundation that works across saturated lead tones, tight rhythm work and cleaner split-coil settings, giving the guitar enough midrange presence to stay defined without getting harsh. The available gloss color options give players multiple ways to match the guitar’s classic Charvel shape to their own style.

Seymour Duncan JB/'59 Pickup Set With 5-Way Switching

The Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge pickup supplies high-output bite for riffs, solos and heavier rhythm parts, while the Seymour Duncan '59 SH-1N neck pickup adds warmer vintage-style humbucker response for fluid leads and full chord work. The 5-way blade switch expands the HH layout beyond standard three-position switching: bridge humbucker, bridge outer coil with neck inner coil, both pickups, bridge inner coil with neck outer coil and neck humbucker. That wiring gives the guitar thick humbucker power, brighter split-coil textures and useful in-between tones without adding extra mini switches.

Quartersawn Maple Neck With Compound Radius Speed

The one-piece quartersawn maple neck is built with bolt-on construction, graphite reinforcement and a natural satin finish for a fast, stable feel. Its 12"–16" compound-radius maple fingerboard starts rounder near the nut for comfortable chords and flattens higher up the neck for bends, fast runs and lead work. Twenty-two jumbo stainless steel frets add durability and crisp note definition, while rounded fingerboard edges and Luminlay side dots make the neck feel broken in and easy to navigate under stage lighting.

Floyd Rose 1000 Series Tremolo for Expressive Control

The top-mount Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo gives the SD1 HH FR the tuning stability and expressive range needed for dive bombs, flutters, wide vibrato and aggressive bar work. A Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking nut keeps the strings secured at the headstock, while Charvel-branded die-cast tuners support straightforward setup and stringing. The dual-action truss rod with adjustment wheel at the fingerboard end makes neck relief changes faster, especially when shifting setups, tunings or string gauges.

Built for High-Speed Performance

The SD1 HH FR's electronics are intentionally direct: one 500K EVH Bourns low-friction volume pot, one dome-style knob and a 5-way blade switch. The low-friction volume control supports quick swells, fast rollbacks and immediate level changes without fighting the knob, which matters for players who use the volume control as part of their technique. Combined with the Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo, compound-radius neck and versatile Seymour Duncan pickup set, the control layout keeps every essential function within easy reach while staying out of the player's way. Complete with nickel-plated steel .009–.042 strings and an included Charvel Multi-Fit hardshell gig bag, the American Neo-Classic San Dimas SD1 HH FR electric guitar delivers the fast feel, tuning stability and tonal flexibility that have defined the San Dimas platform for generations.
