Are your technicians NAPBIRT (National Association of Professional Band Instrument Repair Technicians) members?
NAPBIRT is a professional organization that provides continuing education for technicians with the goal of promoting the highest possible standards of musical instrument repair service. Many of our technicians are members of NAPBIRT and participate in training and knowledge sharing across the instrument repair industry.

How does the repair shop analyze what is wrong with an instrument?
Our repair technicians use a detailed checklist for each family of musical instruments to analyze and determine the overall condition of the instrument and the case on each repair. Each repair request is assessed to align the described repair needs with the repairs required to return the instrument to playing condition. My school-owned inventory is aging. Can Music & Arts get parts?
With our network of shops across the country, we carry the largest assortment of parts in stock.

As an educator I often know what is wrong with an instrument, will Music & Arts do the repair that I request?
Our technicians review repair requests for each repair that is brought to us to be serviced. It’s our commitment to confirm each completed repair is returned in the best playing condition possible. Our goal is to balance the requested repairs with what is needed to restore playing condition while working within the educators budgetary boundaries.

What instruments does Music & Arts service?
Music & Arts offers repair services on Woodwind, Brasswind, Orchestral String, Percussion, Fretted String and Electronic instruments (subject to availability).

Does Music & Arts offer repair pickup and delivery?
Music & Arts offers free pickup and delivery (subject to availability).

What does unconditionally guaranteed repairs mean?
The Music & Arts 90 Day Guarantee applies to all work completed at the time of the repair and covers all parts and materials that were applied to the repair. In case of a defect, malfunction or failure, repairs will be completed to match work indicated on the original repair ticket. Parts or materials used in the original repair that are deemed as deficient will be repaired or replaced and repairs will be expedited to ensure the fastest repair turn around.

How quickly can repairs be completed?
Most repairs take one week or less to complete.

Do you do in-school repairs?
We offer complimentary, temporary emergency repair on-site (subject to availability).

Will Music & Arts come to my school and evaluate/estimate my inventory?
Yes. In markets where we have Educational Rep service, the rep and educator can schedule an appointment with a technician to come to your school and evaluate school owned instruments. This alleviates bringing all the inventory into the shop for evaluation. We can provide a list of instruments so you can determine what you want fixed. (subject to availability).

How do you handle student owned private repair through my school?
Private repairs receive the same service level as school owned repairs. Music & Arts works directly with parent/customer regarding estimates and payment solutions.

Does Music & Arts offer repair in-service professional development for educators?
Yes. Music & Arts provides free repair clinics and professional staff development. We are regular presenters at MEA events and District In-Services (subject to availability).

My district requires quotes/estimates to create a purchase order for repairs, can you do that?
Music & Arts provides free estimates via email to educators and/or business offices. Once we have the school/district approval, we will proceed with your repair.

Do you offer repair discounts for school accounts?
Music & Arts participates in sealed national repair bids, repair contracts, and local repair bids along with RFP and RFQ requests.

Does Music & Arts accept open purchase orders for repair?
Yes. We invoice direct to your open purchase order as repairs are completed.

If I send in my marching band instruments for repair in the spring can billing be delayed until the new school year budget?
Yes. With an approved fall date provided for billing we are happy to offer this service for accounts in good standing.

My business office has specific invoicing requirements. Can Music & Arts meet my district billing needs?
Music & Arts will work directly with your business office to accommodate special billing requests.
