Bold mid-century style with classic DANO lipstick-pickup snap.

The Danelectro Golden 50s electric guitar is the bold visual statement model in the refreshed DANO lineup, pairing classic lipstick-pickup snap with a striking 1950s kitchen tabletop graphic across the guitar top and headstock face. Built on the same updated DANO platform as the Dan O. Cool, it combines a hardboard top and back, solid spruce body frame, bolt-on hard maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with an unmistakably retro-inspired presentation that immediately stands apart from more conventional solidbody designs. Its hotter 1950s-spec Lipstick pickups preserve the bright, open response associated with Danelectro guitars while adding stronger output for pedal-driven setups and modern alternative tones. A 25" scale length, comfortable C-shaped neck profile, 14" fingerboard radius and 21 medium jumbo frets round out the familiar playing feel beneath the standout visual identity.

Hotter Lipstick Pickups With Bright DANO Character

The Golden 50s uses upgraded 1950s-spec Lipstick pickups with increased output, including a neck pickup that is 20% hotter and a bridge pickup that is 30% hotter than traditional Danelectro designs. The result remains unmistakably DANO, with glassy highs, quick attack and bright, snappy response, but the added output gives the guitar more authority into fuzz, overdrive, tremolo, reverb and compression. That combination makes the Golden 50s especially well suited for indie, surf-inspired rhythm work, garage rock textures and effects-heavy alternative playing styles.

Retro Kitchen Graphic With Vintage DANO Details

The defining feature of the Golden 50s is its 1950s kitchen tabletop graphic, applied across both the guitar top and headstock face for a look that immediately distinguishes it within the DANO lineup. A 1954-style full bell headstock, 1954-style rosewood saddle bridge and 1958-style skate key tuners reinforce the instrument’s mid-century-inspired identity, while the hardboard and spruce construction platform keeps the guitar lightweight and lively in hand. For players who prefer a more adjustable modern setup, Danelectro also includes a steel adjustable saddle bridge that can be swapped in place of the preinstalled rosewood bridge. More than a simple finish variation, the Golden 50s embraces the playful visual personality that helped make vintage Danelectro instruments so recognizable.

Comfortable Playing Feel for Retro-Inspired Styles

A bolt-on hard maple neck with a comfortable C profile gives the Golden 50s a familiar playing feel, while the rosewood fingerboard, 14" radius and 21 medium jumbo frets support both rhythm work and expressive lead playing. The 25" scale length balances snap and flexibility, making the guitar responsive for jangly chord work, pedalboard-heavy textures and loose garage-style tones. For players who want classic DANO brightness paired with standout retro visuals and stronger modern output, the Danelectro Golden 50s electric guitar delivers vintage-inspired personality with updated performance potential.
