The latest incarnation of one of the first phasers to ever hit the market.
One of the first phaser effect pedals ever made, the original DOD Phasor 201, blazed the trail for all phaser pedals after it. The DOD Phasor 201 brings the classic analog phaser effect driven by 40+ years of tone-creating experience. The new 2013 DOD Phasor 201 is better than ever before, with true bypass, a crisp blue LED indicator, and modern 9V DC power supply input. Redesigned with a lighter aluminum chassis, sleek blue metallic flake and flat black matte bottom paint job, the 2013 DOD Phasor 201 pedal is a refined take on classic phasing effects, with an incredible new look.

The operation of the 2013 DOD Phasor 201 is pure simplicity. Like the original, the Speed knob controls the depth and speed of the phasing effect, with great tone at any range. True bypass allows your guitar tone to remain pristine even when the DOD Phasor 201 (2013) is off. This is a big difference from the original which would color your bypassed tone. The modern 9V DC power supply input make the pedal more pedal board friendly.

I bought this a little over a month ago and I've had trouble with it since day 1. Not sure if my particular pedal has a short in it but sometimes it won't come on. Because of this, I bought a power adapter thinking it was a battery issue... but the problem still happens. It usually can be corrected by tapping the box on the ground gently, not ideal since i worry it will mess up while performing.

I recently rebuilt my pedalboard. I needed to track down a noise problem and just wasn't happy with the sounds I was getting or the functionality. The DOD 201 replaced a two knob chorus. I was concerned about the flexibility of a one knob modulation device. The design of this is particularly elegant. With the knob all the way down is gives a very subtle swoosh; all the way up it's a pretty good Leslie sim. Every spot on the dial is useful. The effect overall is more subtle than the MXR Phase 90 or some of the other well known phasors. It's a winner for me.

Only one knob, but easily gets at least 3 different textures. Slow is 70s classic rock; middle is a pretty convincing univibe in front of a dirt pedal; and fast is a great faux leslie.

I had an original that I really liked but the bypass signal was awful and the phase wasn't as smooth. Of course you will read how this one is built differently with surfacemount technology, but the sound is fantastic. True bypass. The sound is so much better than my old one, I no longer regret selling it. I would give this five stars even if it was not true bypass, based on the sound alone. Matched FETs. Perfect sweep.

As most know, the Phasor 201 is a two-stage phaser pedal. It's more subtle that four-stage phasers, but also, to my ear, warmer and more organic sounding. It works perfecting to add dimension to both chords and leads. It's exactly the sound I wanted, and so the Phasor 201 works superbly for me. The Phasor 201 is also a simple pedal to operate, which for me is a real benefit. The pedal stays out of my way and performs exactly as it was designed.
