Below, Randy talks about his program and how this new prize of two violins, a viola and a cello will transform his program:

Reeves Middle School is a small middle school in Olympia, Washington. Our string program has tripled in size the past few years, but we simply do not have a budget to purchase new instruments (we borrow many instruments from other schools). These unique electro-acoustic instruments will not only help our acoustic string ensembles but will also help the strings in our jazz band be heard. Having quality instruments with quality pickups opens up many opportunities for strings to integrate into other genres of music — such as jazz. We would like to thank Music & Arts for their support of our programs over the years. This prize will be instrumental in furthering our students’ growth for many years to come.
