Compact Savage gain with EL34 power and flexible output.

The ENGL Savage 30 30W tube guitar amp head packs a wide range of clean and high-gain sounds into a compact, German-made all-tube design. Four ECC83 preamp tubes and two EL34 power tubes drive dual channels with flexible gain and tone shaping, giving players plenty of room to tailor the amp around different guitars, cabinets and playing styles. An onboard noise gate, tube-buffered serial effects loop and multi-level power soak extend that versatility across recording, rehearsal and stage setups without overcomplicating the core workflow. For players who want deep high-gain capability in a smaller head that can adapt easily to different rigs and volume requirements, the Savage 30 keeps that flexibility in a compact 30W format.

Gain Lo/Hi, Contour and Depth Boost Shape the Voice

Independent Clean and Lead Gain controls establish the two channel voices, while the shared Bass, Middle and Treble EQ, Lead Volume, Presence and Master controls handle broader shaping and level. Gain Lo/Hi, Contour and Depth Boost provide three additional sound-shaping options beyond the core gain and EQ section. Together, the control set gives players several ways to tailor the amp around different guitars, cabinets and gain requirements.

EL34 Power and Power Soak Scale the Output

Two EL34 power tubes deliver the Savage 30's 30W output, while the rear-panel power soak provides Full, Mid and Low Power settings plus Speaker Off. Those output modes let the same head move between louder rehearsal or stage setups and lower-level practice or recording environments. A line output provides another connection for compatible downstream equipment.

Buffered Loop and Footswitch Connections Expand Rig Control

A tube-buffered serial effects loop supports integration of delays, reverbs and other processors, while the onboard noise gate includes rear-panel threshold adjustment and footswitchable control. An S.A.C. port supports the ENGL Z9, a separate dual jack supports the Z4 and speaker connections accommodate one 8–16-ohm cabinet or two 16-ohm cabinets. Made in Germany, the ENGL Savage 30 30W tube guitar amp head combines compact dimensions with the switching, routing and gain control needed for flexible high-gain rigs.
