The 30th Anniversary edition of Kirk Hammett's legendary KH-3 Spider electric guitar with his signature EMG Bonebreaker pickups.
The ESP Kirk Hammett KH-3 Spider 30th Anniversary Edition electric guitar is a reissue of the original KH-3 model with a few upgrades. It features a neck-thru-body construction and a fast, extra-thin U-shaped neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard, which is scalloped from frets 17 to 24. The fingerboard also features spider-shaped inlays and Hammett’s skull-and-bone inlays. Other features include Hammett’s signature on the headstock and a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge. This KH-3 30th Anniversary Edition Spider electric guitar also features a set of Hammett’s signature EMG Bonebreaker pickups.
In 1991, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett came to ESP with a request for a new guitar with a single-cutaway design, but with the features of his KH-2 guitar. Metallica’s graphic artist Pushead designed a spider graphic specifically for this special instrument. Hammett played the KH-3 throughout the ’90s on tours supporting the legendary Black Album. After spending a number of years on display at the Rock & Roll Hall of fame, the original KH-3 was returned to ESP so the guitar maker could reference it for this 30th Anniversary edition.
The KH-3 30th Anniversary Edition comes in a black finish decorated with the green and yellow spider-and-skull graphic that was originally created by Pushead. A hardshell case included.
