DO NOT BUY!!!!

We bought this clarinet under the impression it was a great clarinet for a beginner at a wonderful price. It is my daughter's first year in band, and she is so discouraged at the sound the instrument produces and the quality. Other children in her band class make fun of how cheap it looked and the "...funny" sounds it made. It was difficult to assemble and broke in half while taking it apart! The second one that was sent to us is just as cheap as the first. The keys get stuck on this one. My daughter has her first band concert in 2 weeks and has yet to receive a clarinet that will allow her to succeed. I wrote the band instructor an e-mail asking for his opinion and this is what i received back : We both looked at the clarinet and it might be fixable but it is not an easy fix. Its also not something we could do. It seems that something is bent or out of alignment. Your daughter has been doing an excellent job and seems very interested in band. She has taken the initiative to complete smart music assignments after school and has shown us that she really cares. My honest opinion is that I would try to get a different brand. We have had many issues with this brand and often times it is a cheap fix and others (like yours) have been major repairs with bigger bills. A good quality instrument will cost more money, but it will also have much higher resale if you ever need to sell it. I know it can been more upfront but you get much more out of the instrument in the long run. You could go the route of used if you need to cut back on the money but be careful. Ask us first if you find something that looks good used. I would suggest: yamaha, bundy, buffett, selmer, and vito. There are others too just ask if you have questions about their quality. I'm sorry for all the trouble you have been having. I hope this information helps. Thanks!
