A vintage-looking instrument with modern features and a classic tone.

The Gretsch Electromatic John Gourley Broadkaster center block electric guitar gives you a perfect combination of that distinctive Gretsch sound and playability upgrades suited for today's players. Its double-cutaway maple body features a chambered spruce center block, reducing feedback and increasing sustain for your solos and power chords. The USA Full'Tron humbucking pickups deliver a clear, balanced tone with chimey highs and a tight low end.

Center Block Body Provides Rock-Solid Tone

The center block design revolutionized semi-hollow body guitars. A chambered spruce center block runs through the middle of the maple body, increasing sustain and tightening up the low end. The result is a guitar with outstanding note definition and clarity, even when playing at high volumes. The reduced feedback also gives you more control over squeals and squeaks, allowing you to unleash screaming leads with confidence.

USA Full'Tron Pickups for Classic Gretsch Sound

The Gretsch Broadkaster is equipped with USA Full'Tron humbucking pickups that deliver a balanced tone with chimey highs and a tight low end. The bridge pickup has an articulate, twangy sound suited for rockabilly and country leads. The neck pickup produces a warm, rounded tone perfect for jazz chords and bluesy solos. A 3-way toggle switch lets you select bridge, neck or both pickups for a variety of tones.

Bigsby Tailpiece for Expressive Pitch Bends

A Bigsby B70 vibrato tailpiece allows you to add subtle pitch variations and shimmer to your notes. Bigsby vibratos have been used by iconic guitarists like Chet Atkins, Duane Eddy and Brian Setzer to produce their signature sounds. The B70 features a rocker bar that you move up and down to bend notes and add a swirling, modulated effect.

Playability Upgrades for Modern Guitarists

While the John Gourley Broadkaster has vintage-inspired looks and tone, it has several upgrades suited for today's players. The 12" fretboard radius and medium jumbo frets make bending and fretting chords comfortable and effortless. The control layout features master volume with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls and a three-position pickup selector switch, giving you simple yet flexible control over your tone. These enhancements result in a guitar that looks, sounds and plays like a classic but handles like a modern instrument.
