The sound and pitch are good on this mute and it allows clear articulations. I've heard many negative comments about cork type on mutes; new versus old etc. The corks on this mute work along with the design to fit well in 3 different trumpets I use (each a different bell size and shape). The mute is easy to place and easy to remove and it stays secure.

I recently purchased this Jo Ral bucket mute from WWBW and they shipped to me in 4 days for free. It arrived in perfect condition new in the box and was very well packed. It plays great and has that hollow deep sound I was wanting. I had to file the corks just a little to get the mute in tune, but that is common for almost any mute. The sound is great for jazz and big band music. It also works well for chamber orchestra to duplicate the french horn sound, when there is no french horn in the orchestra.
