Modern classical performance with Santos rosewood style.

The Manuel Rodríguez Café Cortado Santos Rosewood acoustic-electric classical guitar rethinks the full-size nylon-string platform for players who want classical response, upper-register access and stage-ready control in one European-made instrument. A solid spruce top with a central solid cedar strip is paired with strongly grained laminated Santos rosewood back and sides, while the offset laser-cut MR soundhole projects outward while the side monitor soundport directs more acoustic output toward the player. A genuine Spanish heel, asymmetrical cutaway heel and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard extend the traditional build for modern performance, and the Manuel Rodríguez by ARTEC SQ-3 system adds a Solidflex bridge pickup, 3-band EQ, phase reverse and onboard tuner. A GEWA armrest, gold-plated tuning machines, Hannabach high-tension strings, Prestige arched case and black leather strap complete the package.

Hybrid Solid Top With Santos Rosewood Back and Sides

The soundboard combines solid spruce with a central strip of solid cedar, bringing two traditional classical-guitar materials together in one distinctive design. The main soundhole uses an offset laser-cut MR shape on the bass side, while the additional side monitor soundport directs more of the acoustic output toward the player. Strongly grained laminated Santos rosewood back and sides provide the model’s defining visual character beneath the environmentally friendly high-gloss finish.

Spanish Heel Construction With Extended Upper Access

A genuine Spanish heel joins the mahogany neck to the body in the traditional Spanish manner, while the exterior heel is shaped asymmetrically to reduce bulk beneath the fretting hand. The cutaway and ergonomic heel make the upper register more reachable than on a conventional non-cutaway classical guitar. A 25.59 in. scale, 2.05 in. nut width and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard retain full-size classical spacing while extending the available range.

SQ-3 Electronics Provide Direct Stage Control

The Manuel Rodríguez by ARTEC SQ-3 preamp pairs a Solidflex bridge pickup with volume, bass, midrange and treble controls for direct amplified shaping. The Solidflex design combines the flexibility of a cable-style pickup with the response of a rigid piezo element. A phase-reverse switch can help manage feedback in resonant rooms, while the onboard tuner mutes the output when engaged and operates without a cable connected. The tuner must be switched off manually after use.

Player-Focused Hardware Supports Long Sessions

A GEWA armrest softens the body edge beneath the picking arm and reduces direct contact with the top. The compensated unbleached bone saddle helps account for string-to-string intonation, while the matching oiled bone nut continues the natural-material construction. Gold-plated tuning machines with black shafts and ebonized buttons complete the distinctive hardware presentation.

Premium Accessories Complete the Working Package

Hannabach 815HTC Silver Special high-tension strings with carbon trebles provide the supplied playing setup, and gold-plated security locks pair with the included Prestige black leather strap. The Prestige arched case uses a wooden core and arched lid for structured protection during storage and transport. For classical players moving between acoustic practice, amplified performance and extended-range repertoire, the Manuel Rodríguez Café Cortado Santos Rosewood offers a carefully integrated alternative to a conventional nylon-string design.
