The 8 x 8 grid responds to playing dynamics and supports polyphonic aftertouch, giving finger drummers and melodic players more expressive control over their performances. Dedicated layouts for FPC, Slicex and Fruity Slicer make it easy to play drums and sliced material directly from the pads, while Note mode turns the grid into a melodic surface for basslines, chords and leads. Notes can be played chromatically or locked to a selected scale, allowing musicians to approach the controller according to their playing style while keeping hands-on interaction central to the creative process.
Sequence Four Instruments and Shape Every Note
Sequencer View lets producers create and edit melodies, basslines, chord progressions and drum patterns across as many as four Channel Rack instruments simultaneously. The color-coded grid provides immediate visual feedback as parts develop, while direct access to FL Studio's Graph Editor puts parameters such as velocity, pitch and note repeats under hardware control. A dedicated Pattern view makes it easy to create, select, clear and duplicate Patterns, and Channel Rack Mixer mode transforms the grid into fader-style controls for balancing levels without leaving the controller.

Seven Mode buttons join dedicated Page and Channel Rack/Octave controls to streamline navigation through different stages of a project. Hardware transport functions provide direct access to Play, Stop, Record, Score Log, Undo, Redo, Clear and Tempo, with additional integration for functions such as quantization and Channel Rack navigation. Novation Components expands the controller beyond its factory workflow by supporting custom layouts for FL Studio as well as other compatible software and hardware, allowing FLpad to take on additional control duties as a production setup grows.

Weighing just 1.83 lb. without accessories, the controller combines a larger performance surface with a slim profile that's easy to move between studio, home and mobile setups. USB-C provides both data connectivity and bus power, eliminating the need for a separate external power supply, while class-compliant operation supports compatible Windows, macOS and iOS systems. A Kensington Lock slot adds an option for securing the unit in educational, shared or permanent workspaces, and the Novation FLpad includes a USB-C-to-USB-A cable for connection to compatible devices.
