Deep low-B notes retain their punch and definition on the Reverend Mercalli 5 roasted maple fingerboard 5-string electric bass guitar. A korina solidbody and five-piece maple/walnut neck provide a responsive foundation, while Split Brick 5 and Thick Brick 5 pickups pair vintage-inspired warmth with modern clarity. The pickup pan control lets you shift between full low-end thump and sharper midrange bite without disrupting the groove. Meanwhile, a high-mass bridge and full 34" scale bring familiar playing proportions and articulate sustain to the extended range.
Split Brick 5 and Thick Brick 5 Deliver Definition
Reverend's Split Brick 5 neck pickup delivers full fundamentals and open highs, lending weight to supportive bass lines without sacrificing articulation. The Thick Brick 5 bridge pickup adds warm midrange presence and a more pronounced attack, helping individual notes stand out in dense arrangements. Together, the pickups offer complementary tonal characteristics, making it easy to move between rounded depth and assertive punch. Whether you're holding down a sustained low B or working through tighter picked passages, the combination provides the clarity and definition needed across the extended range.
Pickup Pan Control Provides Versatile Tone Without Complication
A dedicated pickup pan lets you shape the balance of the two pickups using a single knob. Favor the neck pickup for deeper thump and open highs, or shift toward the bridge for more midrange punch. Between those extremes, subtle blends make it easy to find the right balance for a track without juggling multiple pickup controls. Volume and tone controls round out a straightforward passive setup that supports quick adjustments during rehearsals, recording sessions and live performances.
Korina Solidbody Keeps Deep Bass Notes Responsive and Clear
Korina contributes lively resonance and rich harmonics, giving the Mercalli 5 an expressive foundation across all five strings. The solidbody construction supports a focused low-end response, while Reverend's thin, UV-cured finish complements the body's natural resonance. Together, these elements contribute to a responsive instrument that balances sustained fundamentals with the articulation needed for faster rhythmic lines.
Five-Piece Neck and Roasted Maple Support Comfortable Playing
The five-piece maple/walnut neck supports the Mercalli 5's full 34" scale, while its medium oval profile offers a comfortable, familiar grip. A satin amber finish provides a smooth feel when moving between positions, and the roasted maple fingerboard contributes distinctive caramel-colored grain. Its 12" radius and 21 frets accommodate steady grooves and more melodic passages up the neck. Meanwhile, the 47 mm Boneite nut provides room for the five-string layout, and a six-bolt neck joint offers a secure connection between neck and body. A headstock-access dual-action truss rod makes routine setup adjustments straightforward.
High-Mass Bridge and Hipshot Tuners Reinforce Performance
The high-mass bridge supports clear attack and sustained notes, helping the lowest notes retain definition. String-through-body and top-load options provide setup flexibility, while 3/4" bridge string spacing accommodates the five-string configuration. Hipshot Ultralight tuners reduce headstock weight for improved balance, while the Boneite nut and three-string tree help maintain consistent string contact. A Pure Tone dual-contact jack provides a secure cable connection, and low-profile control knobs complete the hardware layout. With resonant korina construction, versatile passive pickups and comfortable full-scale playability, the Reverend Mercalli 5 roasted maple fingerboard 5-string electric bass guitar delivers extended low-end range with the clarity and control to support a wide variety of grooves.
