“Hello, my name is Mike M. and I am the Head Band Director at H.F. Stevens Middle School in Crowley ISD, Crowley, Texas. HFS is a Title 1 school with c. 150 students in the 6-8 band program. As we, like many other programs, continue to rebuild after Covid, our ensembles are gaining in ability and musicality. As a saxophonist, I am quite aware of the quality and playability of Theo Wanne mouthpieces, and I personally own a WATER model for my alto and a DURGA 5 for my tenor saxes. These Theo Wanne mouthpieces will allow us to solidify and improve the tone and pitch of the saxophone sections of our varsity and non-varsity bands. I am very excited to get these mouthpieces into the hands—and embouchures—of our saxophone students, especially as we look forward to another competition and adjudication season.
