“Magruder High School is located in Derwood, Maryland, and is part of Montgomery County Public Schools. In the instrumental music department, we have 113 students with two bands, two orchestras and AP Music Theory. These timpani will greatly enhance the overall quality of our percussion section. Our current timpani are from the 1990s and are in desperate need of replacement. With this new set, my percussion students will be able to play with confidence and pride. With all the other demands on the music program, we would not have been able to purchase these instruments on our own. We are incredibly grateful to receive this prize, and my students are excited to perform on such high-quality instruments."
