Some boosts are built only to make a rig louder, but the Warm Audio Dirty Boy Jr. Booster pedal is designed to shape how the front end of an amp reacts. Created in collaboration with boutique pedal manufacturer Dirty Boy Co., this compact version of the original Dirty Boy Ball Buster boost circuit delivers up to 10dB of clean gain, then adds saturation, compression and British-style breakup as the gain increases. Its all-analog circuit keeps the response touch-sensitive and dynamic, giving players a boutique clean-to-mean boost that works for transparent level lifts, thicker lead tones and amp-pushing drive sounds.
Dirty Boy Boost Character in a Compact Format
Warm Audio worked with Dirty Boy CEO Danny Gomez to recreate the feel, gain behavior and tonal flexibility of the original boutique boost in a pedalboard-friendly Jr. enclosure. The circuit is voiced for vintage British-style amplifiers and can move from articulate clean boost to naturally compressed breakup and fuzz-inspired textures depending on how hard it is pushed. That makes the Dirty Boy Jr. Booster useful after buffered pedals, in front of edge-of-breakup amps or as a character boost for guitars that need more cut, body or drive.
Flexible EQ and H-M-L Freq Control
Gain, treble and bass controls provide familiar boost shaping, while the H-M-L Freq switch changes the low-frequency response to better match different guitars, amps and pedalboards. Low settings can tighten rhythm parts, middle settings keep the response balanced and high settings help produce fuller lead tones without losing clarity. This added frequency control is especially helpful on crowded boards where boosts can interact unpredictably with buffered effects, overdrives and amp inputs.
Analog Signal Path and Road-Ready Build
True bypass switching helps preserve the natural guitar and amp character when the pedal is off, while the 100% analog circuit, metal enclosure and authentic Dirty Boy styling make the WA-DBjr-BOOST ready for regular pedalboard use. The compact enclosure runs on standard 9V center-negative power and includes 1/4" input and output jacks. Hand-tested in Austin, TX, the Warm Audio Dirty Boy Jr. Booster pedal brings boutique boost tones, flexible EQ and dynamic amp-front-end saturation to guitar, bass and keyboard rigs.
