A split-design audio tester for long cable runs, signal checks and live-sound troubleshooting.

The Xvive AT-3 Audio Tester Ultra is a split-design professional audio tester built for diagnosing long cable runs, stage systems, installed audio lines and live-sound signal paths. The system includes independent AT-3M and AT-3F units, allowing one end of a cable run to send a test signal while the other receives, monitors or verifies continuity from a remote location. It generates 1kHz sine wave and pink-noise signals, supports long-distance XLR and DMX cable testing, meters XLR input levels, checks phantom power and routes incoming audio to headphones or the built-in speaker on the AT-3F unit. Use the Xvive AT-3 Audio Tester Ultra when larger venues and longer signal paths demand faster, more efficient troubleshooting.

Split AT-3M and AT-3F Testing Design

The AT-3 separates signal generation and monitoring into two dedicated units. The AT-3M transmits either a 1kHz sine wave or pink-noise signal through its male XLR or 1/4" output, while the AT-3F receives incoming audio through its female XLR or 1/4" input and routes it to the built-in speaker or 1/8" headphone output. This split-unit design is especially useful when cable endpoints are separated across stages, venue infrastructure, wall plates, equipment racks or installed audio systems.

Long-Distance XLR and DMX Cable Checks

The AT-3 supports long-distance XLR and DMX cable testing by placing one unit at each end of the signal path for remote verification. In cable-test mode, the system checks pins 1, 2 and 3 using either automatic or manual test modes to confirm continuity and identify connection issues. The AT-3F also provides XLR input metering with SG and PK indicators, giving users a quick visual reference for signal presence and peak status when evaluating connected audio lines.

Signal Generation, Monitoring and USB-C Charging

The AT-3 generates 1kHz sine wave and pink-noise signals at selectable -10 dB, -20 dB and -40 dB output levels for compatibility with a variety of audio systems. In audio input mode, incoming signal from the XLR or 1/4" TS input routes to the AT-3F's built-in speaker by default, automatically muting when headphones are connected to the 1/8" output. The AT-3M also checks phantom power on XLR pins 2 and 3, while both units charge via USB-C using a 5V/2A USB power supply and reach a full charge in approximately 1.5 hours. Compact enough for stage cases, installation kits and production tool bags, the Xvive AT-3 Audio Tester Ultra gives audio professionals a practical way to troubleshoot larger systems with greater speed and flexibility.
