Potent 3,000W Class-D power module.
Providing outstanding audience coverage with its robust 12" driver and an astounding 3,000W continuous Class-D output, the BASSBOSS DV12 Powered MicroMain is in a class unto itself, combining the performance of a subwoofer and main in one enclosure. The DV12 provides a remarkable combination of flat frequency response, high output, broad coverage and long throw from a very compact, lightweight and visually attractive loudspeaker. Aside from its impressive performance specifications, the DV12 has the ability to scale between two smaller systems and one larger system. The seamless coupling feature of the DV12 makes it much more versatile than most competitors' powered speakers. When you expand to own more than one pair of DV12s, you can use them in multiple rooms, on separate gigs, or seamlessly coupled to serve much larger rooms.
The BASSBOSS DV12's ultra-wide 120° horizontal coverage helps to provide consistent, intelligible output to audience areas that are to the far left and right, outside the coverage of ordinary portable loudspeakers. This extremely wide coverage is made possible through the use of a line-array waveguide, which—along with the vertical alignment of the drivers—helps to constrain vertical coverage to a nominal 20°. The tight vertical pattern provides more consistent coverage over greater distances and minimizes ceiling and floor reflections, enhancing intelligibility.
BASSBOSS MicroMains are optimized and protected for safe, high-power operation, and are designed to function as complete systems. Optimized cabinet design, premium quality drivers, power-matched amplification and comprehensive processing ensure that no matter the demand, they keep their cool, keep their character and keep on working.
The DV12 provides high output and uniform energy dispersion over a very wide and deep sound field. The cabinet can be arranged in pairs as a vertical line array, with the pairs offering coherent high-frequency summing for extended projection, a tightened vertical dispersion pattern and no loss of horizontal dispersion or the “comb filtering” associated with conventional side-by-side arrays.
Ideal for the mobile professional who moves gear on a regular basis, the handles incorporated in the sides, top and bottom of the cabinet extend past the amplifier to protect it in transit. With handles designed for ergonomic and balanced transport, it is very easy to handle. The cabinet is compact and weighs only 49 lb.
BASSBOSS cabinets are built in the USA and created to stand up to intense usage. The cabinets are constructed from 15 mm Baltic Birch plywood, assembled using dado joints, screws and advanced composite adhesives. Stainless steel bolts are used to secure the drivers, amplifier and pole sockets. The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating. The woofer is protected by a black powder-coated, perforated steel grill.
The DV12's amplifier section consists of two channels with a total of 3,00W RMS output. The amplifier features extremely high dynamic power capacity, with 120 Volts peak output per channel, along with high damping of >10,000:1.
With its efficient PFC power supply and Class-D output topology, the BASSBOSS DV12 MicroMain loudspeaker offers exceptional dynamic resolution and detail along with precise control. It features low current draw and light weight, relative to the high-output capacity.
All the processing necessary for linear frequency response and phase coherent operation are pre-programmed into the DSP. With the comprehensive processing built in, BASSBOSS loudspeakers provide the ease of plug-and-play operation and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the multiple limiter systems make to system virtually indestructible.
At the heart of the DV12's robust 12" woofers are a neodymium magnet and 4″ copper voice coil for uncompromising performance. High-intensity Neodymium magnets are lighter and provide higher efficiency so the result is a lighter and louder cabinet. A copper shorting cap provides for increased high frequency response and reduced distortion and a ventilated voice coil gap improves cooling and reduces thermal compression. The woofer cone is waterproofed to protect it from accidental exposure to moisture, such as rain or spilled beverages. The added benefit of a waterproof cone is that you can clean the driver with a damp cloth in the event it becomes soiled.
High frequencies are handled by a 1.4″ throat compression driver on a 120 x 20° isophasic wave guide, providing ultra-wide coverage. You'll enjoy consistent, intelligible coverage to audience areas to the left and right of the speaker, beyond the coverage area of ordinary portable loudspeakers.
BASSBOSS speakers can be connected directly to your mixer with nothing but signal cable in between. The built-in processing is comprehensive and includes all necessary high-pass and low-pass filters along with equalization and phase alignment processing to ensure coherent response when deployed with BASSBOSS subwoofers. There is no need for any additional EQ in the signal path for the speaker to provide a broad, flat frequency response. Sophisticated DSP programming ensures the speakers deliver consistent sound quality no matter the input level.
BASSBOSS technical specs are based on measurements of continuous performance in normal usage. Other manufacturers may specify output based on calculations rather than measurements; measurements outside the operating bandwidth; or on ‘Burst’ or ‘Peak’ readings. BASSBOSS specifications are conservative compared to most manufacturers. They reflect what the products will achieve, consistently, in the real world—since the real world is where you’ll be using your gear.
