In a famous moment from Manuel Penella's 1916 opera El Gato Montés (The Wild Cat), a matador sings exuberantly to his beloved young gypsy woman that he will fight the bulls for her. In this marvelous adaptation, Shelley Hanson combines the march melody from this scene, along with another melody from the opera, creating a well-balanced and appealing work for the concert stage. Duration is 3:30. Originally recorded by the Minnesota Symphonic Winds with Shelley Hanson as guest conductor.
