Terrific for solo or full band practice!
I used the DB-88 for many years nearly every day with my bands until the DB-90 came out. The DB-90 has even more great features, but it's basically just a great, solidly built, metronome. One reviewer wrote about the failure of the built-in stand, but I never use it anyway and don't need it. Another...

Metronome, with serious issues

Instructions are poor, expect to spend time on YouTube to figure it out There are better phone apps available, for a lot less money.
The standard by which other metronomes are judged!
I've used this for many, many years. Zero complaints at all! Excellent tool for any band!
Teaching Equipment
You handle a lot of nice things for music. Doing great and really like my students.

Another reviewer wrote about the annoying accent, but if you don't want that, just turn it down or off. If you have a piece with multi-meter and/or tempo changes, this is one fantastic tool! You can program an entire song with up to 50 changes. The reference tone with multi-octave range is a nice feature as well. It's great for concert, marching, or jazz!

Terrific, but Fatally Flawed
This is a terrific metronome for serious rehearsal. I particularly like the flexible subdivision and variety of rhythm patterns. The volume control is excellent and the controls are logical and easy to use. However, the built-in, folding table stand is flimsy beyond belief. It was barely usable out of the box and failed completely in seven months, making the metronome essentially unusable without making a stand of some kind. I would not recommend this unless it is to be firmly mounted on a solid support (a mounting post and threaded collar are included for this).

Must Buy
Overall great metronome. Does the basic and same functions as the Beat 88. I love the great different drum program beats it supplies but since I use it mostly for marching its really useless for me. The accent is very annoying when using it as a regular metronome. But it's just as valuable as the 88. I use it most everyday. Worth the money.
Amazing for loud marching bands
When I used this in corps we could hear the drumlines Dr. Beat over our own in the hornline. Used best with high school marching bands that are very powerful but get off beat. Drumlines respond and perform better when rehearsed with Dr. Beat.
fantastic
I use this metronome every day. It helps tremendously with everything. If you are anywhere near serious about getting good you need a good metronome, and this one is it.
