The Encore is made of a mixture of hard rubber and a Dupont acrylic specially developed for woodwind mouthpieces. The Encore material is actually harder, more stable and durable than purely hard rubber mouthpieces.

Unlike hard rubber the Encore will not discolor, warp or oxidize even after many years of playing.
