Studio-quality sound wherever you go.

Built with the ambition of placing professional-quality sound in the palm of your hand, the teenage engineering CM-15 field microphone is in a league of its own. This portable condenser mic was designed with versatility in mind, making it perfect for on-the-go recording, mobile podcasting or your movable studio setup. And with its ultra-sleek, compact build, it has the power to rival microphones twice its size and double the cost.

As the first-ever microphone from teenage engineering, the CM-15 includes all the thoughtful, design-forward features you’ve come to expect from the innovative Swedish manufacturer. It’s the latest entry in the brand’s Field System, rounding out a suite of pocket-sized products designed to deliver true studio performance anytime, anywhere. Boasting a built-in preamp, multi-use connectivity and a large diaphragm capsule that provides rich, dynamic sound, the CM-15 is a powerful tool both in the studio and out in the field.

A Professional-Grade Portable Condenser Mic

The CM-15 may be small, but it’s built with big performance in mind. It features a large-diaphragm capsule that captures clear, transparent sound—a rarity in the portable equipment market. With a width of just over 2.5”, the CM-15 packs in a 1” condenser capsule—a piece of inspired engineering that results in extremely low self-noise and excellent depth of sound. Elegantly constructed from CNC aluminum with a low-profile design, this compact condenser mic utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern to eliminate ambient noise and provide remarkably consistent sound no matter the setting, making it perfect for mobile applications. Delivering rich sonic detail with minimal distractions, the CM-15 is ideal for recording vocals, voiceovers, podcasts, or even Foley effects.

Three Gain Settings for Maximum Versatility

Whether you’re recording soft, whispery vocals or booming, heavy drums, the CM-15 is versatile enough to capture a variety of sounds with beautiful transparency, making it an excellent all-in-one option both in the studio and on the go. It comes with an easily toggleable gain switch with three analog gain settings—neutral or +/- 18dB. Use the lowest gain setting for drums or cranked amplifiers, the medium setting for acoustic guitars and the highest setting for vocals or recording from a distance. An integrated ess sabre analog-to-digital audio converter helps preserve high-fidelity sound and capture exceptional detail in any application.

Flexible Connectivity to Meet Your Needs

The teenage engineering CM-15 offers multiple options when it comes to connecting and powering your device. It has three outputs—mini XLR, 3.5 mm mini jack and USB-C—that can be used simultaneously, allowing for flexible connection wherever you are. Connect it to your interface with the included mini XLR-to-XLR cable, or plug it straight into your computer or phone with a standard aux cable or the included USB-C connector. You can also connect with other teenage engineering devices like the TP-7 recorder or TX-6 mixer through the mini jack or USB-C ports.

Anticipating the needs of the on-the-go musician, the CM-15 can also be powered in three separate ways: 48V phantom power, USB-C, or the integrated 10-hour rechargeable battery. Power switching is handled automatically, allowing you to effortlessly plug in and play no matter your setup.

A Valuable Addition to Your Portable Studio

The teenage engineering Field System was built around the concept of a pocket-sized studio that balances maximum portability with studio-grade performance. Joining a lineup that includes a synthesizer, multi-channel mixer and tape recorder, the CM-15 fits right into the Field System with seamless interconnectivity. Pair it with the TP-7 tape recorder to record podcasts with perfect clarity. Plug it into the TX-6 mixer to capture clean and focused vocal performances in a variety of settings. Connect it to the OP-1 synthesizer for direct sampling capability.

With its 3.5 mm mini jack and USB-C outputs, the CM-15 is also able to bypass interfaces altogether and connect straight into your phone or computer for true plug-and-play performance. Its built-in table stand is ideal for on-the-go setup, while the included stand adapter with 90 to 110-degree tilt allows you to pair it with a mic stand or tripod.
