Turn a compatible pencil condenser into a large-diaphragm recording microphone in seconds. The Vanguard Audio Labs V34C gen2 LOLLI removable multi-pattern large-diaphragm capsule head uses a custom-voiced 34 mm, edge-terminated dual-capsule assembly with 3-micron diaphragms to bring the scale and character of a large-diaphragm design to compatible small-diaphragm microphone bodies. Switchable cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns expand its usefulness across a range of studio applications, while M21x0.5 threading allows the capsule to fit a variety of compatible pencil microphones from multiple manufacturers.

34 mm Dual-Diaphragm Capsule Delivers Detailed Sound

The V34C gen2 uses the proprietary custom-voiced capsule platform found in Vanguard's V44S and V13 microphones, tuned for full lows, precise midrange detail and a smooth high-frequency response. Its extra-large 34 mm assembly uses edge-terminated, gold-sputtered 3-micron Mylar diaphragms designed for high sensitivity and detailed capture. A switch located on top of the capsule provides direct selection between cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns, giving a compatible microphone two distinct pickup options from a single interchangeable head.

Precision-Machined Housing Supports Open Acoustic Performance

The dual-capsule assembly sits in a custom suspension saddle inside a retro-inspired body CNC-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum. Open-weave mesh, a carefully radiused interior and precision-machined venting are designed to prevent internal standing reflections and support the capsule's open-air voicing. The robust aluminum construction also protects the capsule during regular studio use while giving the LOLLI its distinctive appearance inspired by classic broadcast microphones.

Limited-Quantity Construction With Individual Quality Control

Designed in the USA and produced in limited quantities, the V34C gen2 undergoes final assembly in Portland, Oregon. Vanguard performs audio and visual quality-control testing on every unit before it is hand-packed, with components designed for durability from the precision-machined chassis to the custom suspension saddle. Backed by Vanguard Audio Labs' five-year warranty, the V34C gen2 LOLLI Large-Diaphragm Capsule Head provides a fast way to expand a compatible M21x0.5-threaded pencil microphone with large-diaphragm performance and selectable cardioid or omnidirectional pickup.
