Great stage keyboard
Great sound ,excellent keybed very friendly use.

Solid keyboard, ultimate flexibility
I have been a long time Yamaha keyboard customer, having 3 other Yamaha electronic keyboards over the years going back to 1986 with the PSR-6300. The CP88 demonstrates Yamaha's continued commitment to crafting instruments that are flexible, easy to use, and have professional sound quality and feel. I do not think I could ever go back to non-weighted keys. The response is unrivaled. The upgrade capability to add new sounds is awesome. The layout of controls is intuitive. I have had this keyboard for just over two months and I continue to be impressed. I use this keyboard at church, at home, and for other performances. Thank you Yamaha! #SWEEPSTAKES
Simplicity and sound: why the CP88 is my Go-To Keyboard
The CP88 is the instrument I've always wanted, and it has truly delivered. The keybed is fantastic—responsive and expressive, making it a pleasure to play. I love the simplicity of its design, which allows for easy navigation and creativity without any unnecessary complexity. The vintage feel of the user interface adds a nice touch that enhances the overall playing experience. Whether I'm performing or practicing or creating, the CP88 provides a warm, rich sound that I can rely on. I'm super happy to have this instrument in my gear! Definitely recommended. #SWEEPSTAKES
Piano technician chooses the CP88
I was advised by a musician friend to buy a particular keyboard. At the store, I sat with it for over an hour, trying for a sound and feel that reached me. The talented sales guy finally took me aside and redirected me to the CP88. I was instantly satiated. A month into it, and the keyboard is teaching me to express differently with each sound, along with teaching me to adjust the vast sound flexibilities. I still love my acoustic grand, but this CP88 has opened many windows of creativity.
Very good but wished it had better organ sounds
Very realistic feel, lots of sounds, good as the real thing. Mine has an issue where the digital screen turns upside and backwards when plugged in to speakers. After software updates still does, you have to turn off then on.
Great piano action feel and build quality.
The action, touch sensitivity and feel of the keyboard is great. The piano has a very solid feel, yet is still light enough to easily handle. Also the layout and controls are very well organized and user friendly. One area that I think could be improved is the sound library. My take is that the piano and e.piano sections sound realistic, the SUB section could be better. In particular, the strings and brass sounds could be enhanced, although the solo saxes which were added with the last software update are good. Ideally, being able to expand the sound library (a la Nord) could elevate the instrument to best in class.
CP88 is the core piano in my rig
use cp88 as main stage piano with modx 7 covering synth, rompler, organ needs for now.
Excellent product, just needs a couple of improvements
I use the CP88 as my lower keyboard for piano-type sounds, with a Motif 7 above it (for synth/organ-type sounds). Overall, I'm very happy with the CP88, mainly due to its high-quality sounds, excellent 88-note keyboard and portability. The main "niggles" I have are (1) its lack of rotary backlight for the Master Volume knob: on a dimly-lit stage (which I generally play on), it's hard to see what setting it's on (2) the positioning of the MV knob means it's tricky to reach (and see) when you've got another keyboard above it, as I do with my Motif 7 (3) same thing with the positioning of the LCD screen: it's too far back when used in a dual-keyboard rig like mine (4) same thing with the Encoder dial, which I use a lot to access my Live Sets (5) LCD screen is too small, a larger screen would be very helpful (6) the PB and Mod levers might look "cool" but they are too small and fiddly to use in a gig (also too far back when used in a dual keys rig)
