This kit is nice Yamaha Tour Custom
I own two of the newer Tour Custom kits one is butterscotch and the other is candy apple red. I work them hard 50 plus shows a year. I can't say enough about these drums. I use Evans EC2 heads on the top and Evans G1's on the bottom. Glad 2 batter kick head. They stay tuned even under themp. changes, they are super easy to keep clean. No problems. I highly recommend this drum kit (Tour Custom )

First Gig With Tour Customs Today
ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Butterscotch Satin kit! With stock heads even, this kit is the best sounding I've ever played! The kit projects better than any I've played. The toms literally sing, and they tune very easily. Stick response is top notch, and these just feel so good to play. The sound engineer was ecstatic to see a Yamaha kit as I set up. Yamaha's are SO consistent." People talk about the "thing" that Yamaha drums have, and these absolutely have it too! Only issue is that I couldn't get comfortable with the racks mounted over the kick drums. Offset them to the left so the ride is where I like it, and they're perfect now!

I love these drums!
I've owned the Recording Custom and Birch Absolute Custom drum sets and I like my New Tour Custom Series drum set better. The reasons are because these drums open up more, have a ballsier more dynamic range. I also love the rims that are on this set, reminds me of the old Slingerland rims from the late 60's/early 70's only better. The quality seems to be pretty much the same as my earlier Yamaha sets but the sound even better. I've had many drum sets in my life and these are the best I've ever ownd.

If you want a Great sounding quality maple set THIS IS IT !
Nice to see Yamaha updating their badges to reflect the real quality of their sets.

Blown away!
As the previous reviewer stated. This kit sounds better than my Maple Custom Absolutes AND my Birch Custom Absolutes! These drums are that good. I'm amazed by the fit and finish of this kit. Build quality is top notch. Drums tune easily and have a wide tuning range. I can't find any flaws in bearing edges, roundness of shells or the finish. I've got mine set up as a four piece kit. Great job Yamaha! Too bad there's not matching Tour Custom snare drums. Love this kit!

Tour Custom 4 star
I wanted Maple at a decent price and Yamaha Tour Custom filled the bill. My 1990's Recording Customs got me hooked on Yamaha and my Tour Customs did not disappoint. Price is key due to the fact that a local musicians pay has not changed much in the last 30 years. Thank You Yamaha , keep up the good work. Vic Motta , drummer for the celtic rock band Forthlin Road.
